Description: | We'll be singing a short selection of our recent songs: E malama – from Hawaii: "Earth and sky, sea and stone, hold this land in sacredness". Haere Mai - a simple but evocative KMaori song Veloma Masine e – from Madagascar, "May you stay alive and well ..." Dobru noc – a lullaby from the Moravia region of Czech Republic. Bring us peace – as it says, really. The basses lay the foundation and carry it all the way through; the top parts soar away, while the tenors pitch in with a different rhythm. Ise Oluwa – in the Yorubalanguage of Nigeria; meaning "The work of the creator will never be destroyed". Watch the stars – a gentle piece from the islands off Carolina, USA. Bambelela – a lively one from South Africa: "Never give up". |
